The Dutch cabinet has announced that from 2026 the hybrid heat pump will become the standard for heating homes when the central heating boiler is due for replacement. As a result of this cabinet decision, installation companies are forced to prepare and adjust the current working method where necessary. Minister Kajsa Ollongren of the Interior has decided to postpone the definitive effective date to 1 January 2023. Initially, the Gas Boiler Act (Gasketelwet) has been in force since 1 October 2020, but installation companies still have a bridging period.
