Frequently asked questions about Business Central apps

Click a question to see the answer.

What is Microsoft AppSource?
Microsoft AppSource was Microsoft’s app store for business applications, including apps for Business Central. Since its merger with the Azure Marketplace, the store is called Microsoft Marketplace. It offers apps from Microsoft partners that extend Business Central, such as the 2BA integration, Extended Time Sheets and Document Capture.
How do you install an app in Business Central?
An administrator finds the app in the Microsoft Marketplace, or in Business Central itself via Extension Management, and chooses to install it. The app then appears as an extension in your environment. Preferably test a new app in a sandbox environment first, so you know how it works with your settings and other apps.
Are apps from the Microsoft Marketplace safe?
Business Central apps in the Microsoft Marketplace go through technical validation by Microsoft before they are published, which makes them suitable for the automatic updates of Business Central online. Also check the publisher, the support offered and the permissions an app requests. Bluace advises which apps fit your processes.
