“Systems belong in the cloud, not under a desk”
Pieter Kok, Technical Consultant at Bluace
Pieter began his journey to Bluace at his previous employer, where he worked for over ten years and got to know Mark. Even after Mark moved to Bluace, Pieter remained involved in joint projects. “When I finally dared to make the move, we were actually still at the beginning. There was no ready-made product yet; we started building it together. Step by step, the current Business Central product portfolio took shape,” says Pieter. His move was driven by content-related motivation: working with modern cloud technology and looking ahead instead of clinging to outdated systems. “Systems belong in the cloud, not under a desk,” says Pieter, Technical Consultant at Bluace. Pieter is married, has two children, and comes from the Rotterdam area. “In my free time, I have a hobby that has gotten a bit out of hand: radio. What starts with some equipment and experimenting in an attic room quickly becomes a fully-fledged studio, which can sometimes even be more important than the living room when moving. ‘You never really get rid of that ‘radio virus’,’ Pieter says with a smile.

Within Bluace, Pieter focuses on all aspects of Business Central development. He keeps up with developments on the platform, contributes to product choices, and collaborates with colleagues on customized solutions and technical implementation. Although he also handles internal system tasks, his passion lies in actual development work: programming, estimating, and resolving client issues. He does this within a team of Business Central developers, with shared responsibility for quality. Pieter describes the culture at Bluace as open, direct, and practical. “Everyone is given responsibility and freedom, as long as you take it. Trying things is encouraged, making mistakes is allowed, as long as you solve them together. You can see that mentality reflected in the collaboration: colleagues are approachable, help each other, and take over each other’s work when needed,” Pieter explains.

For the future, Pieter mainly sees opportunities in further developing the service side and closely keeping up with technological developments. Staying relevant requires continuous movement, innovation, and aligning with what both customers and Microsoft are doing. “Only in this way will Bluace continue to move forward and the work remain challenging and enjoyable,” says Pieter resolutely.
