Object administration: why this is becoming more important for installation companies
Installation companies are increasingly faced with new laws and regulations that require them to install and maintain objects according to specific guidelines. This also means it is becoming increasingly crucial for installation companies to manage at the object level. However, object administration has other advantages that make it easier for you as an installation company. We would be happy to explain it to you.
1. Comply with (new) laws and regulations concerning object administration without much hassle
One of the main advantages of object administration is that you can easily document how the object has been installed. The installation industry is increasingly facing new laws and regulations that require objects to be installed safely and correctly. For example, the new Gasketelwet stipulates that only installers with certification according to the guidelines may work on central heating installations. With object administration, you can easily document who has worked on it and what actions have been taken at the object level, so you can demonstrate at any time that you have complied with these laws and regulations. Object administration is still necessary even if no law or regulation applies to a particular object. If a new law is ever introduced, you can immediately see whether you already comply with this regulation or if an additional action is needed to comply. It would be a shame if you could not see this remotely and had to check all the installations before you could get to work.
2. Which materials are needed for maintenance or repair with object administration?
As an installation company, you undoubtedly install, maintain, and repair your installation objects daily. With object administration in your service and maintenance software, you precisely record which object was installed, where, when, and with which parts and materials. If the object ever breaks down or malfunctions, thanks to object administration, you can see exactly whether you used part A or part B and that it was installed with a pipe of 2.1 meters instead of 2 meters, for example. This way, you can see remotely which materials technicians may need, and the technician leaves immediately with the right parts for the location. This significantly increases the likelihood that a technician can solve the problem on the first visit, saving time and costs.
3. Easily change the owner or location
Suppose your installation company specializes in installing and maintaining central heating boilers. Such a boiler can last about 12 to 15 years, so it is not uncommon to change ownership or location during its lifespan. We often see installation companies that manage all the boiler information based on the owner, not the object itself. When the owner changes and you create a new owner, crucial information such as previously performed maintenance often gets lost. Object administration always retains this information because it is linked to the object. You can then attach an owner and location to this object, which you can easily change without affecting other vital data, such as maintenance contracts and repair history.
