This is what you can expect from Dime.Scheduler in 2026

2025 is over—a year in which product development at Dime.Scheduler seemed quieter than we are used to. But in this case, calm does not mean stagnation. On the contrary, behind the scenes, a solid foundation for the future has been hard at work.

In close consultation with partners and customers, Dime has made great strides over the past year. Feedback from the community led to a more ambitious design than initially planned, resulting in longer development time, but above all, promising innovations that will see the light of day in 2026.

What can you expect this year? We outline the most important developments.

More intelligent route optimization: from TSP to VRP

  • Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP)
    A significant first step is the introduction of route optimization based on the well-known Traveling Salesman Problem. This functionality, which became available in the sandbox at the end of 2025, helps planners calculate more efficient routes with minimal travel time or distance.
  • Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP)
    It quickly became clear that in practice, more is required than just ‘the shortest route’. Consider employee skills, priorities, time windows, and availability. This more complex issue is known as the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP).

Since the summer of 2025, Dime has been working on an advanced algorithm that automatically takes all these factors into account in the planning. The first internal tests are promising. This year, a closed testing program will begin, with a select group of partners as the first to try out this functionality.

Nieuwe Recommendation API (preview)

Automation and optimization are central to Dime’s roadmap. That’s why a Recommendation API will also be introduced in 2026 (in preview).

This API provides intelligent recommendations for planning and scheduling, and will have time to grow based on practical data and feedback before being declared fully production-ready.

A completely new Dime.Scheduler planning board

One of the most significant projects for 2026 is undoubtedly the development of a new planning board. This component serves as the foundation for modernizing the entire frontend of Dime.Scheduler.

What does that mean in practice?

  • New possibilities such as dependencies, travel time visualization, and team planning.
  • Better performance;
  • Faster development of new features;

Given the complexity, there is no fixed end date yet. However, throughout 2026 (and probably also 2027), regular incremental updates will be available for evaluation.

MCP: ready for the next generation of integrations

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is one of the most talked-about technologies at the moment. Thanks to Dime’s flexible architecture, this technology can be integrated relatively easily.

In 2026, Dime will gradually make functionalities available via MCP, initially in preview. Based on feedback from partners and customers, it will be determined how and when this will be rolled out further.

Planning Digest: sharing made easier

During the search for technology for the new planning board, a practical innovation unexpectedly emerged: the Planning Digest.

This feature periodically sends emails with the schedule as a PDF, making it easy to share with clients and team members. The functionality is already working well and will be made available in the sandbox during Q1 2026, after a few final improvements.

And that’s not all…

In addition to the developments mentioned above, further functionality is under development. As soon as these become available, they will be explained through release notes, documentation, newsletters, and webinars.

One thing is sure: 2026 will be an exciting and innovative year for Dime.Scheduler.

Finally: upcoming price changes

With the introduction of this extensive new functionality, the pricing structure should be revised accordingly. Concrete details will follow later in 2026 and will be communicated promptly.
